JOB POSITION:

Traffic Control Person

JOB STATUS:

Full-Time/Seasonal

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING NEEDED:

None. We perform all training in-house.

HOURS DURING PEAK SEASON:

Mon to Fri: 6am to 6pm. Overtime and Weekend Shifts as Needed.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Set-up safe work zones for construction crews using traffic cones, barrels and barricades.

  2. Direct traffic through safe work zones using stop and slow paddles.

  3. Communicate any incidents and hazards to the Site Supervisor.

  4. Observe the construction crews inside the work zone and warn them of possible safety hazards.

  5. Provide a secure supervised area to allow concrete to cure undisturbed.

  6. Perform light/general labour duties as needed.

  7. Complete time keeping paperwork.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. You must be able to interpret instructions both written and oral. This includes reading and interpreting traffic control plans, work summaries and safety documents.

  2. Respond to common customer questions, complaints and inquiries regarding safe work practices.

  3. Complete a daily time sheet summarizing your hours worked and for what customers.

  4. Work outdoors in all types of weather. 

  5. Work near vehicle traffic and heavy equipment.

  6. Work a flexible schedule with extended hours (8-12 daily).

  7. Comfortable lifting up to 30lbs.

COMPENSATION:

  • $13.50+ Hourly Wage 

  • 4% Vacation Pay 

  • Weekly Attendance Bonuses

JOB POSITION:

Temporary Workplace Signer 

JOB STATUS: 

Full-Time/Seasonal

 

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING NEEDED: 

You will need your Temporary Workplace Signer (TWS) Certification, a class 5 drivers license, clean driving abstract and some prior experience in the role.

HOURS DURING PEAK SEASON:

Mon to Fri: 6am to 6pm. Overtime and Weekend Shifts as Needed.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Receive daily work schedule nightly via email and plan detailed traffic control solutions based on customer needs and safe work practices. This includes contacting traffic control personnel with travel/pickup details and ensuring that all the equipment needed for the next day is available and on the truck before arriving on site.

  2. Set-up safe work zones for construction crews using traffic cones, barrels and barricades. Ensure that the set-up suites both the needs of the customer and complies with safe work practices. 

  3. Monitor the safe work zones regularly, correcting any compliance and personnel issues as they arise. 

  4. Record and report any workplace incidents to Management.

  5. Complete and submit detailed safety and administrative documents to the office.

  6. Ensure all company property is picked up at the end of the day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. You must have a TCP and TWS Certification.

  2. Class 5 drivers license with clean driving abstract.

  3. Minimum 6 months experience as a TWS with a strong understanding of traffic control practices and procedures.

  4. Proven track record of respectful and positive dealings with customers and co-workers. As well as regularly showing leadership and good decision making on work sites.

  5. You must be able to interpret instructions both written and oral. This includes reading and interpreting traffic control plans, work summaries and safety documents. You must further be able to dictate these instructions to others.

  6. Respond to common customer and co-worker questions, complains, issues and inquiries regarding safe work practices. 

  7. Complete daily safety and administrative documents.

  8. Work outdoors in all types of weather.

  9. Work near vehicle traffic and heavy equipment.

  10. Work a flexible schedule with extended hours (8-12 daily).

  11. Comfortable lifting up to 30lbs.

  • $17.00+ Hourly Wage
